It is inarguable that one of the finest things about a summer day is being able to spend the day floating in your pool.  That's right, your pool.  Not a public beach filled with children who like to run by and take stand in face, not a community center where the chlorine is high enough to melt the skin off of your hands because there's always the chance that somebody's child jumped in without their diaper again, your own pool.  Your pool, in which you can float along in your back, feel the breeze on your face and enjoy the absolute freedom of knowing that nobody is going to decide to jump in, do a cannonball and ruin the moment for you.

Having your own pool also means being able to design it in any manner you choose.  There are certain factors that are absolutely required prior to installing a pool, which ever type you may have.  It is absolutely necessary that a pool be placed on a flat piece of land.  If you are installing an inground pool it will probably be necessary to hire a bulldozer and back for this process.  If you've purchased an aboveground pool it will probably be sufficient to take stand or some other type of material and level the ground (although if you should choose to take a bulldozer and level the ground before installing an aboveground pool that is never a bad idea).  Word to the wise: which ever pool you happen to have, make sure that it is well clear of the septic tank.  This will probably be a requirement prior to being able to obtain a permit to have the pool, but just in case...

When you have flattened the land and either dug out the inground pool or installed your above ground pool it is time to decide precisely what sort of scenery you would like to see while floating on that raft and sipping that margarita. The use of large rocks to create an elegant walkway and patio area around an inground pool is always an aesthetically pleasing option, particularly if the rocks happen to be of various colors.  It is also possible to use concrete to create a smooth surface on an inground pool; this is something that can be determined at the whim of the landscaper.

Whatever the type of pool it will benefit from the addition of colorful flora.  Who doesn't like to float in the pool and be able to look up and see a beautiful, happy flower looking back at them?  Flowers such as pansies or roses which possess a bright color and give off a pleasing scents are an excellent choice for a poolside accessory.  To create a Mediterranean atmosphere in a decidedly non-Mediterranean setting one can add palm trees to their poolside and experiments with the various decorative tiles available on the market today.

There are an endless number of landscaping options when it comes to installing a pool.  One has only to reach down and their imagination, pull out their fantasies and make them real.
